Pianist Gabriela Montero joins the ensemble for a performance celebrating harmony and nature. The evening opens with Peter Maxwell Davies’ evocative An Orkney Wedding, With Sunrise, Op. 120a, capturing the spirit of the Scottish landscape. Sergei Prokofiev’s virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26 dazzles with its energetic melodies and intricate rhythms. The concert concludes with Felix Mendelssohn’s majestic Symphony No. 3 in A Minor, Op. 56, Scottish, a musical homage to the beauty of Scotland.
