RESIDENT COMPANIES

Our Founding Resident Companies play a vital role in enriching the world-class performing arts that thrive inside of our walls. These three companies have been with us since before our curtains even opened — get to know more about them below and check out a show or two.

The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts was built by the community and for the community, to be a permanent home of our Opera, Symphony, Ballet, and other local arts organizations.

Ballet Austin

As distinctive and dynamic as the city it calls home, Ballet Austin takes its “classically innovative” approach to dance seriously. Here you can find classic performances, contemporary works, and even dance classes all year round. And don’t forget about The Nutcracker!

Austin Symphony Orchestra

The ASO is Austin’s oldest performing arts group, providing an entertaining range of classical, pops, and family concerts that take audiences on a musical journey throughout the ages and around the world.

Austin Opera

Accessible takes on classic operas are what Austin Opera is all about. But they don’t stop there — challenging new works, emerging artists, and Austin’s live music DNA all inform their ever-growing list of performances happening at the Long Center and across the city.
