The Human Resources Intern will work closely with the HR department to organize, recruit, interview and onboard future interns, creating a meaningful, educational, and inclusive environment for our interns and staff.
This role will be responsible for developing a streamlined recruitment and tracking process for a variety of cross-functional internship roles, marketing our opportunities and providing interns with networking and professional development activities while supporting other projects aimed at ensuring the Long Center is an employer of choice.
Other projects may include record retention, training, recognition, benefits, and wellness initiatives aimed at interns and/or full-time and part-time employees.
The Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to support and collaborate with the Long Center Marketing team on multiple creative and media endeavors. The Marketing team supports the Long Center Presents performance series which includes shows from Jason Isbell and Nick Offerman to community concerts like The Drop-In. We also support arts community programs like Create Austin and our founding resident companies, Austin Opera, Austin Ballet and Austin Symphony Orchestra. We even support additional venue rentals such as film and television festivals, company events, and live shows across a broad spectrum of entertainment.
This intern can expect to gain experience and hard skills in performing arts marketing fundamentals such as show development and on-sales, email and paid social campaign management as well as creative concepting and design project trafficking. This intern will additionally help with blog and press release writing as well as administrative support as needed. This role will involve close collaboration with other internal departments that the marketing team supports, such as fundraising, sales, ticketing, and grant administration. They will also join meetings to help better understand the expectations of the Marketing department, as well as the goals the team is working to accomplish.
The Long Center Box Office and Ticketing department handles ticket sales for both Long Center Venues and other locations. This role will help support the department’s vast functionality while focusing on the group sales efforts to help develop the program to grow and flourish.
The Box Office Intern will work to identify and solve problems impacting group sales and how to best solve them. This role will help support customer satisfaction and serviceability through streamlined research and administrative support such as invoicing and troubleshooting problems as they arise. This will also include researching new industry standards to ensure best practice and help reach new communities for group sales. Other responsibilities may include invoicing, working shows, communicating with customers and other duties as assigned. Tessitura experience is great but not necessary.
