Austin Shakespeare presents The Odyssey, October 11 & 12 in Rollins Studio Theatre.
Six creative actors bring to life scenes from Odysseus’ epic adventures in Austin Shakespeare’s new production of Homer’s The Odyssey, with daytime performances for students in grades 6-12 on Wednesday and Thursday, October 9 & 10 at 11:00am, and evening performances for families and the general public on Friday and Saturday, October 11 & 12 at 7:30pm in the Long Center’s Rollins Theatre.
Artistic Director Ann Ciccolella has written a new adaptation that promises an imaginative and entertaining 70-minute performance in the intimate Rollins Theatre, concluding in a Question & Answer session with the director and actors. From fighting with Cyclops to escaping the Sirens’ song, we share Odysseus’ trials, culminating in his dramatic homecoming.
The production will feature Sam Grimes as Odysseus, Nancy Eyermann as Penelope, Justin Scalise as Zeus, Regan Goins as Athena, Ethan Santo as Telemachus and Taylor Flanagan as Calypso. Directed by Ann Ciccolella.
