Picture Perfect: Music of Vivaldi, Hindemith & Mussorgsky

February 7 – February 8, 2020 | Dell Hall

About the show

Austin Symphony Orchestra present Picture Perfect: Music of Vivaldi, Hindemith & Mussorgsky, February 7 & 8 in Dell Hall.

Picture this…big full trees, bursts of fall colors, crisp cool air, and the sounds of Vivaldi’s Autumn and Winter from The Four Seasons…isn’t it, Perfect?! ASO concertmaster Jessica Mathaes takes center stage for Vivaldi’s popular work followed by Mathis der Maler by Hindemith. Now we move indoors for Mussorgsky’s crowning achievement, Pictures at an Exhibition, inspired by an art exhibition and full of picturesque motifs.

Still want more? How about playing on some string instruments provided by our friends at Strait Music.? We also have a wonderful pre-concert talk given by Bob Buckalew at 7:10 pm. How about “tweeting” with our musicians and ASO staff? Take a photo in front of our photo wall. Come experience music that is “Larger Than Life!” Feeling a little peckish? Our friends at Spectrum Catering will be offering meal options outside on the Terrace and also on the Mezzanine level.
