COVID-19 HEALTH & WELLNESS PROTOCOLS

The safety of our patrons, artists, and staff is always our top priority.   As such, we have implemented the below health and wellness protocols  to allow the community to continue to enjoy live performances and share creative experiences safely.

General Entry Policy

In accordance with the City of Austin’s public health guidelines for city-owned facilities, masks are strongly encouraged but not required when attending a Long Center event unless a specific event requires stricter entry policies.

Additional Event-Specific Requirements

Additional event-specific entry requirements may be present at the discretion of the performer or event organizer, which may include proof of negative COVID-19 test or vaccination. Please check the show-specific event page on our calendar for more information.

We will notify ticket buyers via email of any changes to your show, including updates to the entry requirements. Adding updates@email.thelongcenter.org to your address book will help ensure you’re receiving all critical show communications.

Refund Policy

As a non-profit, the Long Center’s longstanding policy is that we do not offer refunds unless a show has been cancelled. For most shows, however, you are welcome to donate your ticket to the Long Center for a tax-deductible gift, or exchange your ticket up to 24-hours before a show for a $10 charge.

As our public health environment changes often, some circumstances surrounding events at the Long Center are subject to change. This could include rescheduling to a later date or increasing screening protocols prior to entry. We will make every effort to communicate these changes to ticket holders, through email, social media, and on our website prior to the show.

If an event is rescheduled, your ticket will be valid for the new date with no extra charge to you. If your event is cancelled, our Box Office team will work with each ticket holder to either refund the cost of your ticket or exchange your ticket for a different show.

Note: For events hosted by Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Opera, Ballet Austin, or other third-party organizations, please contact them directly for their refund policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Seats, bathrooms, and other high-touch surfaces will be thoroughly sanitized before each show. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the venue for your personal use. Long Center staff are required to frequently wash and sanitize their hands. Additionally, The Long Center is excited to announce that we have completed the installation of UVC lighting in all of our air handler units. This technology has been proven to neutralize viruses, bacteria and other airborne pathogens that may be present in our system. We are also proud to say that our HVAC system uses MERV 13 air filters to further ensure a clean and safe environment for our patrons, performers, and staff.

More information about UVC lighting and its application in HVAC systems can be found here.

Testing Types:
We accept Antigen and PCR tests taken no more than 3 days prior to the show date listed on your ticket.

At-Home (Rapid Antigen) Tests:
We accept digital proof of testing. For “At Home” rapid tests that do not have emailed or other digital test results, please ensure you bring a time-stamped photo of the negative test. For quickest and easiest entry, a time-stamped photo of your negative test next your photo ID will help our staff with quick confirmation of results.

Vaccination Cards:
Physical or digital vaccination cards are accepted with a second dose of Moderna or Pfizer vaccinations and a single dose of Johnson and Johnson no less than 14 days prior to the show date listed on your ticket. For quickest and easiest entry, a digital photograph of your vaccination card next to your ID will help our staff with quick confirmation.

Boosters are NOT required for entry at this time.

International Vaccinations and Vaccination Cards:
The Long Center will honor most all international vaccinations recognized by the WHO as effective against COVID-19. Please be patient as we may need to review and confirm the vaccine manufacturer and status.
