Andrew and Mary Ann Heller present Singing for Steven: A Cabaret Evening with Andrew Heller, April 21 in the Rollins Studio Theatre, featuring the Select Ensemble of the Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards.
Andrew and Mary Ann Heller would like to invite you to A Cabaret Evening with Andrew Heller to mark the launch of the endowment honoring their son, Steven, which supports the Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards (GAHSMTA), a Long Center arts education program.
Music created a bond between Andrew and Mary Ann Heller and their son, Steven, who was studying to become a recording engineer at the time of his unexpected death on January 27, 2017. The Hellers have been supporters of GAHSMTA since its inception in 2014 and could think of no better way to honor Steven than to create an endowment for this program and the thousands of young people who will benefit from it. Singing for Steven marks the beginning of a musical collaboration to honor Steven and his love of all things musical between the Heller family and the students in the program.
On April 21st, Mr. Heller will be performing songs from the Great American Songbook and his two Frank Sinatra Tribute albums, Sinatra My Way and soon-to-be released Sinatra All the Way, joined by the student performers from the program in a cabaret concert setting in the Rollins Studio Theatre at the Long Center. The performance will celebrate the upcoming release of Mr. Heller’s second Sinatra album, Sinatra All The Way, which was recorded in Nashville with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra conducted by the legendary arranger’s son, Christopher, and by John Mills of the University of Texas at Austin.
The evening will also include selections performed by the GAHSMTA Select Ensemble who will dance and sing Broadway classics in their signature style. The performance will be followed by a champagne reception for host committee, charter donors and VIP ticket holders in the Kodosky Lounge.
- Charter donors of $150 or more to the endowment honoring Steven Heller will be recognized at the event and will receive 2 VIP tickets to the event.
- VIP tickets are available at $75 each and include premium table seating and an invitation to private meet and greet reception following the concert and signed copies of the newly released CD, Sinatra All the Way.
- General Admission seats are available for $25 each.
