Austin Symphony Orchestra presents the 8th Annual Austin Symphony Sarah and Ernest Butler Texas Young Composers Concert, June 16 at the Long Center.

The most elite young composers Texas has to offer come together for one night to premiere their compositions that won the Sarah & Ernest Butler Texas Young composers Competition held this past Fall. The pieces were selected during a blind audition by a panelist of judges. These remarkable pieces of music will be performed by your Austin Symphony Orchestra under the baton of ASO Music director and conductor, Peter Bay!

You don’t want to miss this electrifying concert showcasing some of Texas’ talented young composers. The program notes for each piece (written by the composers themselves!) will be highlighted on a screen behind the orchestra while their piece is performed live for the first time!

Bring your friends, family, co-workers, for a special evening of music.

Congratulations to the 2018 winners of the Sarah & Ernest Butler Texas Young composers Competition
