The Dance Project presents My Favorite Things, June 22 – 24 in Rollins Studio Theatre.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…

The Dance Project presents My Favorite Things, a celebration of hopes and dreams forming a revival of dance in its true form. This show presents a musical journey through life’s happy occurrences and beautiful moments.

My Favorite Things offers artists the chance to declare their own favorites and explain why they are so special to them.

We are excited to welcome Reverence Dance Project as guest performers for the show. Reverence Dance Project (RDP) was founded by Quinton Weathers and Dane Burch in 2011. Their goal is to bring together well rounded artists, and to create a positive environment where all members can expand their passion for the art of dance. The company’s vision is to not only bring their work to the stage, but to also capture dance on film. RDP bases their artistic creations from the talent of each member in the company, resulting in equal contribution of thoughts, visions, and works to each dance performance.

My Favorite Things is a journey for our artists through subject matters that are deeply personal and reflective in nature. The show reveals more than just raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. There is an entire world out there that affects us in a personal and meaningful way.”
— Latisha Coffey, Artistic Director

The Dance Project is a non-profit professional dance performance company in Austin, Texas. They offer local artists and choreographers a venue for expressing their love of dance and sharing their unique vision. TDP hosts 12 resident artists and 8 choreographers plus new artists auditioning and performing year-round.

Dr. Diana Wang and Latisha Coffey launched TDP in 2013 to facilitate freedom for expression and movement in dance for all choreographers and dancers. They encourage an environment of creativity, inspiration, and sparkle. The Dance Project welcomes you to attend any of the three yearly performances they produce in the Austin area.
