Summer Stock Austin presents Monty Python’s SPAMALOT, July 21 – August 12 in the Rollins Studio Theatre.

Monty Python’s Spamalot, the musical comedy sensation “lovingly ripped off” from the film classic Monty Python and The Holy Grail, leaps onto the Rollins stage this summer, spreading laughter and cheer throughout the kingdom. As gleefully silly yet wickedly smart as Monty Python, the beloved British comedy troupe that inspired it, Spamalot parodies the legend of King Arthur and his band of haphazard knights as they sing and dance their way through an inane divine quest, dodging giant wooden rabbits, obnoxious Frenchmen, and a death-defying limbless knight along the way. Don’t miss this madcap comedy of magic and mayhem!

Director/Choreographer Ginger Morris. Assistant Director Dustin Gooch. Musical Director Dustin Struhall. Book and Lyrics by Eric Idle; Music by John Du Prez & Eric Idle. From the original screenplay by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin.

Winner of the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Award for Best Musical.

About Summer Stock Austin

Now entering its 13th season, there isn’t any other program in the country quite like Austin’s own SUMMER STOCK AUSTIN. From performing to designing and building sets, these high school and college students from across the country learn about every part of a professional theatre company–all the while working side-by-side with local and national theatre professionals. High school students learn from college students who learn from professionals. Performers and technicians are picked based on their demonstrated talent, promise and character. The “company” rehearses for three weeks to mount three fully produced musicals in the Rollins Theatre at the Long Center. The program is supported by ticket sales and through the generous donations of arts supporters.
