The Long Center presents an evening with Maureen Dowd and Carl Hulse In Conversation, Saturday, November 18 in Dell Hall.
Known for her witty, incisive and often acerbic portraits of the powerful, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Maureen Dowd has been a columnist on The New York Times Op-Ed page since 1995, after having served as a correspondent in the paper’s Washington bureau for nine years. She has covered four presidential campaigns and served as White House correspondent. Dowd began her career in 1974 as an editorial assistant for The Washington Star, where she later became a sports columnist, metropolitan reporter and feature writer. When the Star closed in 1981, she went to Time magazine and then joined The New York Times as a feisty metropolitan reporter in 1983. In 1992 Down was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for national reporting, winning her Pulitzer seven years later.
Maureen Dowd with be joined by Carl Hulse, The Times‘s chief Washington correspondent and managing editor of “First Draft,” a political news stream and morning email.
