Over the Lege presents Over the Lege Part 3: Return of the Legi (slature), October 12 – 14 in Rollins Studio Theatre.

Over the Lege, the number one (and some might say only) political comedy satire variety show based solely on the shenanigans of the Texas Legislature returns to the stage with Part 3: Return of the Legi (slature). Created and hosted by long-term Texas Legislature staffer Stephanie Chiarello, Over the Lege has caused audiences to scream with laughter and gasp in horror at what passes for government in the Lone Star State. Through comedy sketches, musical numbers, and improvised bits, Over the Lege presents real Texas laws and lawmakers in a way that entertains and educates the audience about politics in Texas.

Can you name your state senator (Hint: it’s not Ted Cruz)? Ever wonder why the Lieutenant Governor takes an excessive interest in where you go to the bathroom? Want to know what’s going on at the Texas Capitol, but feel like the news is too depressing? If you answered yes or no to any of the above questions, then Over the Lege is for you!

The award-winning Over the Lege show is presented in two acts. In the first, you’ll say “wait, is that really  true?” while laughing in awe at the policies and actions from our legislature (Yes, they passed a law letting you hunt feral hogs from a hot air balloon). The second act is an interview with a Texas political celebrity, where you’ll learn the inside scoop about the operations of the Texas Legislature. This year’s special guests are:

Friday, Oct 12
SENATOR WENDY DAVIS

Saturday, Oct 13
MIKE COLLIER (Lt. Governor Candidate)

Sunday, Oct 14
SENATOR KIRK WATSON (ASL Interpreted)
