The Dance Project presents Your Hand In Mine, June 8 – 10 in Rollins Studio Theatre.

The Dance Project presents Your Hand In Mine as our final show for the 2017-2018 season. We are proud to present performances portraying life lessons, happiness and struggle, betrayal, darkness and new beginnings.

The symbolic gesture of holding hands and supporting each other through our life’s journeys is the theme of the show. “At the touch of your hand… The world fades. Our fingers interlace, and peace enters. Flows into me. An inner clam grows. Spreads. Tensions erode. Crumble. The stale tastes of the day’s stresses wash away. I focus on our contact. Your warm palm against mine. The sensations are more than just touch.”

We are excited to welcome new and returning choreographers and dancers to portray this heartfelt and profound vision.

Choreographers for Your Hand In Mine include Shell Bauman, Meghan Bowman, Yasmin Kayce, Dr. Diana Wang, Alex Crank, Latisha Coffey, Riley Noble, Dre Torres, and Jessee Smart.

A percentage of the show’s proceeds will benefit the local charity AFSSA / Asian Family SUpport Services of Austin. AFSSA is a nonprofit organization based in Austin, TX that provides assistance to Asian and other immigrant families dealing with domestic violence, sexual assault and trafficking. The mission is to promote abuse-free Asian communities through advocacy, support, awareness, and access to social services. For more information contact them at www.afssaaustin.org.
