Wednesdsay, November 15, 7:30p.m. in Dell Hall. Tickets on Sale Friday, October 20 at 10 a.m.

October 17, 2017 (Austin, TX)— The Long Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce a special evening of humor and political satire with award-winning actor, producer, and comedian Alec Baldwin and bestselling author and host of Studio 360, Kurt Andersen on Wednesday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m. Together they have teamed up to co-author their new book, You Can’t Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year As President Donald J. Trump (A So Called Parody), and will join the Texas Tribune’s Evan Smith in conversation.

Pre-sale tickets are available for Long Center Members starting today Tuesday, October 17 at 10 a.m., and single tickets will go on sale this Friday, October 20 at 10 a.m. A copy of the book will be included with every ticket. Limited VIP tickets include a pre-show book signing.

Channeling the spirit of deeper truth, Saturday Night Live veteran and America’s presidential-impersonator-in-chief, Baldwin, and America’s foremost Trump scholar, Andersen, will share an intimate, first-hand account of all the magic and “fact-checking” that went into their new book, and everything that goes on behind the scenes of making America great again. Until Donald Trump publishes the ultimate account of his entire four or eight or one-and-a-half years in the White House, the definitive chronicle will be You Can’t Spell America Without Me.

More powerful than an early morning Tweet storm, this just may be the “truest book ever written.” For this one night only, Baldwin and Andersen will take the Long Center stage to further illuminate its pages of 1000% truth with newly created videos and a very serious, deeply thoughtful discussion moderated by Smith. This event is in partnership with the Alamo Drafthouse and will be live streamed to participating Drafthouse locations across the U.S.

*PLEASE NOTE: Alec Baldwin will not be in character for this performance*

“I have the best words, beautiful words, as everybody has been talking and talking about for a long time. Also? The best sentences and, what do you call them, paragraphs. My previous books were great and sold extremely, unbelievably well–even the ones by dishonest, disgusting so-called journalists. But those writers didn’t understand Trump, because quite frankly they were major losers. People say if you want it done right you have to do it yourself, even when ‘it’ is a ‘memoir.’ So every word of this book was written by me, using a special advanced word processing system during the many, many nights I’ve been forced to stay alone in the White House–only me, just me, trust me, nobody helped. And it’s all 100% true, so true–people are already saying it may be the truest book ever published. Enjoy.”

With You Can’t Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year As President, President Donald J. Trump gets to set the record straight even more. Trump was elected because he was the most frank presidential candidate in history, a man eager to tell the unvarnished truth about others’ flaws and tout his own amazing excellence. Now he levels his refreshingly compulsive, un-PC candor at his landslide election victory as well as his role as commander-in-chief and leader of the free world. You Can’t Spell America Without Me is co-authored by America’s foremost Trump scholar Kurt Andersen as well as America’s foremost mediocre Trump impersonator, Alec Baldwin. Publishes November 7, 2017.
