In case you missed it (how could you??) this season’s Summer Stock Austin lineup is filled with laughs, clever asides and plenty of standout songs to be sung. So we thought we’d take this moment to introduce our lead actors and actresses! (Fans of last year’s The Addams Family will notice a familiar face—we’re welcoming 2016’s “Gomez” Ben Roberts back as King Arthur in Monty Python’s Spamalot!)
And keep an eye out—we’ll be releasing the FULL casting announcement very soon!
This glorious wild west spectacle celebrates the legendary sure-shot Annie Oakley. Loosely baed on the true story of the renowned sharpshooter and her tempestuous romance with gunslinger Frank Butler, this musical features countless standards, including “You Can’t Get a Man With a Gun,” “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” and “Anything You Can Do.”
Annie Get Your Gun will star:
Annie Oakley – Trinity Adams (Graduating from Dripping Springs High School)
Frank Butler – Max Corney (Graduating from McCallum High School)
This musical comedy sensation is “lovingly ripped off” from the film classic Monty Python and The Holy Grail, spreading laughter and cheer throughout the kingdom. Spamalot parodies the legend of King Arthur and his band of haphazard knights as they sing and dance their way through an inane divine quest in wickedly smart and gleefully silly fashion.
Monty Python’s Spamalot will star:
King Arthur – Ben Roberts (Graduating from Westlake High School)
Lady of the Lake – Lydia Kamm (Graduating from Round Rock High School)
This brand new musical comedy is straight from the minds of Allen Robertson and Damon Brown of the Biscuit Brothers and loosely based on “The Elves and the Shoemaker.” Sydney, a 13th generation shoemaker, is looking at closing her shoe shop for good, but some refugee elves on the run from the law decide to make shoes for her in exchange for a safe place to stay. What is there to do but to solve everyone’s problems with rap battles, lounge singing, and magical, tap-dancing shoes?
A Shoe Story will star:
Sydney – Megan Hudson (Rising senior at ASPVA)
Bo – David Peña (Crockett High School graduate)
