Travis Wall's Shaping Sound: After the Curtain | The Long Center for the Performing Arts

The Story of One Man Fighting to Find His Creative Voice—Shaping Sound’s “After the Curtain”

You’ve seen them on television, you’ve seen them in the classroom—now it’s time to see them LIVE. After their spellbinding Dance Reimagined, Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound is revisiting Austin with their brand new show, After the Curtain, June 10. This is the story of a man fighting to find his creative voice after the death of his one true love.

Heart-wrenching, breath-taking and ultimately uplifting, you wouldn’t expect anything less from this dance company, right? Through his Emmy Award-winning work on So You Think You Can Dance, Travis Wall has established himself as one of America’s favorite choreographers.

Shaping Sound was established in Los Angeles in 2012 with a focus on contemporary dance and choreographic artistry. Created by Travis Wall (with an Emmy Award for Best Choreography and six other nominations under his belt), along with partners Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance and Kyle Robinson, the company is an evocative collaboration by diverse artists who describe themselves as ‘visual musicians’—their dance gives shape and form to sound. With their unique fusion of jazz, modern and hip-hop choreography, the company broke into public awareness with television series All The Right MovesSo You Think You Can DanceDancing With The Stars, and Glee. Plus, Ellen loves them as frequent guests on The Ellen Show.

So get ready—Shaping Sound and company hit our stage June 10!
