This is Once the Musical, where the actors are musicians and the musicians are actors. With live music coming from the actors on stage—playing their own instruments—Once is a musical like no other.
We’d like to introduce you to the stars of this national touring production. These performers have credits ranging from national tours to Off-Broadway productions, on stage and on screen. Combined with understudies and technical staff, this production packs a punch. And get your musical theatre juices flowing–read on to spot the recognizable roles and titles that just might be on your list of favorites.
Sam Cieri. Sam plays Guy in Once. He was born in Boca Raton, Florida. After high school, Sam went from being a dueling piano player at The Mirage in Las Vegas to playing music in the New York City subways to pay the bills, and after a quick stint as a motorcycle salesman, he decided to come to the theater. Most recently Sam was seen in Rock of Ages as Drew, and was pleased to play Guy in the Dublin production of Once.
Mackenzie Lesser-Roy. Mackenzie is Girl, the other half of Once‘s romantic duo. Regionally, Mackenzie has starred in Spring Awakening (Wendla), Sweeney Todd (Beggar Woman), and The Threepenny Opera (Jenny). Mackenzie is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory.
Jenn Chandler. Jenn is the Bank Manager in this musical. Jenn’s regional favorites inlcude Macbeth (Malcom/Cellist), 45 Second from Broadway (Megan Woods), The Mousetrap (Miss Casewell). Her training includes a Bachelor of Music in Cello performance from BYU, as well as an M.A. in Classical Acting, LAMDA.
Nyssa Duchow. Nyssa plays the Ex-Girlfriend in this production. She started playing violin at age five and graduated from the Webster Conservatory in musical theater. She’s fiddled all over the country as principle roles in Ring of Fire, Cotton Patch Gospel, and Almost Heaven.
Liam Fennicken. Liam plays the role of Švec. Liam is a proud graduate of Penn State with a B.A. in Theatre. His National Tour appearances include American Idiot (Ensemble, Understudy Will), and Peter Pan 360 (Smee/Nana). Liam is also a former member of the Penn State Statesmen and Hyannis Sound award-winning a cappella groups.
Marlene Ginader. Marlene plays the role of Réza in this tour. Some of her favorite credits include Chelsea Hotel, The Songs of Leonard Coehn (Jane), Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (Mary Lou), Trough! (Tina), Tiny Replicas (Dayna), and Pharoah Serket (Zalira). Marlene is also a graduate of Vancouver’s Studio 58 Professional Theater Conservatory.
Isaac Haas. Isaac plays the role of Andrej. Isaac’s Off-Broadway favorites include Peace Love and Cupcakes the Musical. His New York City and regional favorites include Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Legend of Jim Cullen. Isaac graduated from CAP21 conservatory and enjoys acting, singing, songwriting and making doughnuts.
John Hays. John is Billy in this national tour, also his national touring debut! His regional favorites include Grease (Roger), Rent (Roger), The Buddy Holly Story (Joe Mauldin, Understudy Billy), Ring of Fire (Mark), Pump Boys and Dinettes (Jackson) and A Soldiers Play (Lt. Byrd).
Angel Lin. Angel is this tour’s Emcee. A self-proclaimed geek, Angel recently toured in Kansas City Choir Boy (starring Courtney Love). She was also featured in Better to Live (Tribeca Film Festival 2015), a documentary about creating The Reality Show, a musical-sketch comedy tackling mental health issues for college students. Angel holds a B.F.A. from NYU.
Bristol Pomeroy. Bristol plays the role of Da in this national tour. His recent credits include Carefully Taught, Sleep in Safety, Boeing Boeing (Bernard), The Sun Shines East (Robert), Driving Miss Daisy (Boolie Werthan), That is How I Left (Mr. Bristol) and On A Darkling Plain. On TV he has co-starred in “The Americans,” and his film credits include Marathon, FAT (starring Mel Rodriguez), 2 Sunny Days (Croatia) and It’s Not Funny Anymore.
Dan Tracy. Dan is Eamon in this tour. Off-Broadway, he has appeared in Clown Bar (NY times Critics’ Pick, NYIT Award nominee), Ivy & Bean and Byuioo. He has been a member of Hudson Valley Shakespeare, Nebraska Shakespeare, Pipeline Theatre Company, and is a graduate of Creighton University.
Alison Rose Munn. Alison is Baruška in this tour. Other national tour appearances include The Taffetas (Peggy). Regional credits include The Who’s Tommy (Mrs. Walker), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Christine Colgate), Hello, Dolly! (Mrs. Malloy), Cats (Grizabella) and Las Vegas’ Jubilee! (Principal Singer). She holds a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from NYU.
Lily Caputo. Lily plays Ivanka in this production. This national tour of Once is also her theater debut! A model turned actor, she has performed in film and commercials.
