In our world of increasing technology, invention, and scientific discovery, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle. But the universality of storytelling remains constant, and that’s exactly what Israel’s Aluminum Show is here to say. The Long Center invites you to let your imagination run wild for a couple of hours on a Wednesday evening—it just might be the escape you need to return to the world refreshed, invigorated, and ready to take on anything.
What may be a new generation’s—indeed, a futuristic generation’s—answer to Blue Man Group, The Aluminum Show trades typical artistic tools for industrial materials while uniquely captivating audiences with what, at its base, is a classic story of good and evil. In this spectacle of a show, aluminum pipes come to life right before your very eyes, transforming into imaginary, mysterious, and playful characters. With whimsy, humor, and imagination, this international show takes you on a futuristic, planetary expedition fit for the whole family—even on a school night.
This is a multi-sensory experience—combining visual theater, dance, creativity, unconventional materials, and good storytelling into an extraordinary tale of a parallel universe, the likes of which audiences have never before seen but are able to relate to all the same. “Every place in the world we go, the audience is different,” says artistic director Ilan Azriel. But his point is that aluminum, technology, and innovation are everywhere, and that’s exactly the point of The Aluminum Show.
This new show was written and directed by Lior Kalfo, creator of the internationally successful shows “Voca People,” “Fantasy,” and “Glow,” with choreography by Ido Tadmor, one of Israel’s foremost choreographers, and under the artistic direction of Ilan Azriel, co-creator of the international Aluminum Show. Great exercise for your imagination, The Aluminum Show promises to take you on a wild ride that you won’t soon forget.
Escape with us to the brave new world of The Aluminum Show, October 26th!
