Our New Season May Have Launched, but That Doesn’t Mean We’re Done Adding to it!

It’s true—the new Long Center Presents 16-17 season is upon us, but we’re not done! We’ve added several shows since you last checked in with use. Take a look at what’s coming up!

Star Wars Marathon. Dress in your finest Jedi robes or Galactic Empire uniforms and join us for a rare screening of the original 1997 special edition versions of A NEW HOPE, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and THE RETURN OF THE JEDI. Be on the lookout for plenty of movie fun, and don’t forget to order your box lunch!

The Long Center and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema present Star Wars – The Original Trilogy August 13 in Dell Hall.

Sawyer Fredericks. Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell – Season 8) was the youngest victor in show history on NBC’s The Voice. At only 16 years old, Sawyer became the first Voice artist to land 14 songs in the iTunes Overall Top 200 Songs chart in one week. Through all of this fast-moving fam and success, Sawyer has stuck to his roots with a contemporary folk sound that pays homage to his Upstate New York farm home.

Sister’s Back to School Catechism: The Holy Ghost and Other Terrifying Tales. Late Nite Catechism is back! The show has toured cities all around the world with over 100 “Sisters” presenting the shows in this series. In this hysterical lesson full of Sister’s signature class participation, we see the Church’s take on well-known Halloween tales of ghosts and goblins. You might even get some hands-on experience in how to build a Catholic appropriate Halloween costume!

Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions. Need something for the Pokémon GO-er in your life? Witness your favorite Pokémon come to life as a full orchestra plays arrangements from recent and classic Pokémon games. Gans and newcomers of all ages will enjoy this opportunity to experience Pokémon in a whole new way. Don’t miss this chance to meet up with your fellow enthusiasts to catch, battle, and trade Pokémon!

The Long Center Presents Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions January 7 in Dell Hall.

Chris Botti. Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti takes the stage to express his love for romantic melodies from across the world. Botti’s innovative new album, Impressions, crosses many genres with both new compositions and old classics, featuring a number of guest artists including Andrea Bocelli, Vince Gill, and Mark Knopfler.
