Help us grow our one-of-a-kind Theatre Education experiences!

You all see so many things happening around the Long Center, as well as the City Terrace like Bubblepalooza, part of our All Summer Long series, the new Statesmen Skyline Theater and many other community-focused activities. As Austin’s premiere performing arts center, we are always focused on bringing you, our awesome patrons and friends, the best experience possible.

Beyond our innovative programming, did you know we also have youth-focused education programs? Programs like:

Summer Stock Austin
Is a one-of-a-kind program that does not charge tuition from participants, relying solely on the generosity of individuals, companies and foundations to help support its unique mission. By providing this tuition-free program for our college and high school participants, talented young Texans from all backgrounds and walks of life are able to learn as a part of our “stock” company, each performing, designing, building and assisting with every aspect of the three theatrical productions. Our participants also have the opportunity to work side-by-side with university faculty, as well as theatre professionals from Austin and around the country. Our high school students get a taste of theatre at the college level and our college students gain entry into the world of professional theatre. To our knowledge, this is the only program of its kind in the United States.

TAP Camp
Texas Arts Project Boarding Camp for the Performing Arts provides students an opportunity to discover where process meets product. Students learn to tap into their own creativity and achieve success through an intensive artistic program. TAP Camp is for everyone interested in gaining knowledge, experience and fun through the magic of theatre! Days at TAP Boarding Camps filled to the brim as students rotate on a tight schedule of classes, activities and rehearsals to culminate in the final showcase production.

TAP strives to create the “complete artist.” Junior Campers get a taste of singing, acting and dancing, while Senior Campers choose a “major” field of study and have opportunities to engage in courses and activities in all other majors. Campers try new things as they strengthen the skills in their comfort area while expanding their horizons in all other disciplines. Individual attention along with high expectations for the group, encourage personal responsibility and teamwork.

College Audition Program
An exciting new initiative, The Long Center’s College Audition Program provides high school students rigorous preparation for the college audition process. Carefully structured to offer students and their families individualized consultation, training and practical preparation for their musical theatre college auditions, the program grows in intensity as senior year approaches. In their senior year, students receive twenty private coaching sessions to fine-tune the monologues and songs they’ll present to college auditors. The experience culminates in February of each year when seniors travel to the Chicago Unified auditions to share their audition packages with various schools.

Your contribution helps our local students continue to develop through these special Long Center programs! A gift to the Long Center helps grow our one-of-a-kind theatre experiences to serve the Greater Austin community. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
