Call it Pixie Dust, Fairy Tale Magic, or Old Fashioned Fun: DISNEY IN CONCERT Flies into the Long Center

‘Be Our Guest’ and experience the magic on Sunday, January 11, when the Long Center Presents Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies. Enjoy your favorite Disney music in ‘a whole new world…ahem- way’…live in concert!

If you know, have, or are just remotely aware of children in any form or capacity, you’re also probably privy to the fact that Frozen items (we’re talking DVDs, dolls, accessories, clothing, pajamas, shoes, jewelry, CDs, tea sets, karaoke machines, the list goes on (and on and on)) were top sellers this holiday season. For most of these children, Frozen is their first real exposure to the magic that is Disney. For the rest of us, it’s simply added to a list of classics including The Lion King, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast, and dozens more.

The magic of Disney doesn’t simply rest on the princes, princesses, and happily-ever-afters of it all; it comes from the beautiful, fun, and catchy songs you know you know all of the words to (and probably belt out in the car more often than you’d care to admit), the timeless stories you can watch and enjoy just as much at 7 or 70, and the bond you can easily share with your friends, families, and children that love it all as much as you do. That magic is what Disney in Concert is all about.

Derived from some of the most famous movie scores of all time –including Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, The Lion King and the recently added FrozenDISNEY IN CONCERT explores many of Walt Disney’s stories and melodies through  a full 55-piece orchestra and Broadway vocalists (who invite you to sing along!).

The Regal Pops Orchestra’s presentation of DISNEY IN CONCERT Magical Music from the Movies features four Broadway vocalists, Disney produced visuals (including rare original storyboard artwork and video from the films), a scripted narrative presented by the singers and The National Pops Orchestra conductor, and, of course, some of the best known film music of our time.

But, don’t just take our word for it…

All too often the phrase “family entertainment” equates to “suitable only for preschoolers”. Not so with the symphony’s “Magical Music of Disney.”

“Prepare to be engrossed in a world of fantasy as you listen to enchanted music from your childhood and more.”

“Disney in Concert is a beautifully crafted program with top notch arrangements and medleys of Disney’s greatest hits.  Add to that the wonderful video presentation and four talented soloists and you have a terrific concert for young and old alike.  The musicians and I thoroughly enjoyed performing this show as much as the audience loved watching it!!”

So, whether you grew up watching Cinderella lose her shoe, or introduced your children to Disney magic with Frozen, join the Long Center for an unforgettable evening of the music, the magic, and of course, the memories.

Tickets for Disney in Concert, which plays the Long Center’s Dell Hall January 11th at 3:00 PM, can be purchased here.
