Plant the Seeds of Art Appreciation with Long Reach for the Arts

Have you noticed our flower beds lately? You know, the ones in our circle drive? Aren’t they beautiful? These are sponsored by our Friends & Family donors. This outstanding group of donors supports our Long Reach for the arts program.

flowers_blog3Long Reach for the Arts provides our area youth an opportunity to see a live performance for free. For many of the children that visit through this program, it is their first time to experience live theater. Like the rain for the plants, the arts enrich these young peoples minds in many ways, leading to better  academic results, higher career aspirations and a greater level of civic engagement.
This past year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Austin had a chance to enjoy a concert by Winton Marsalis. These youth were excited to come to the Long Center – all for the first time – and hear this amazing musician in person. The smiles on their faces showed us how appreciative and thankful they were to be in the audience, an experience that will likely last a lifetime.

You can help us to provide more of these experiences by becoming a donor to our Friends & Family giving level. Your donation will be recognized with a garden sign that graces our flower beds in the circle drive.
