“Erth’s DINOSAUR ZOO LIVE creates hyper-realistic, large-scale dinosaur puppets based on ‘interpretations of fossil evidence’.” – The Huffington Post
Erth Visual & Physical Incorporated – Creator and Producer of the show – is all about bringing the impossible to life. Since Erth’s DINOSAUR ZOO LIVE began touring, more than a million people have seen the it! To let you in on a bit of the fun that they’ve experienced, here’s a quick video and some fun facts about some dinosaurs in the show.
One of the first dinosaurs to be seen in the video is a Triceratops (try-ser-ra-tops). It’s name comes from the Greek language and literally means three-horned face. Those three horns make it one of the most easily recognizable dinosaurs. They are believed to have weighed anywhere between 6 to 12 tons fully grown.
The next dinosaur we see in the video is a Tyrannosaurus Rex (tie-ran-oh-sawr-us), also known as a T-rex. The T-rex lived in an area of the Earth that now makes up Western North America – seems a little too close to home! These dinosaurs are often poked fun of because of their big heads and tiny arms.
The Meganeura Dragonfly (meg-a-NEW-ra) is also seen buzzing around the stage in the video. They are one of the largest insects to ever have lived on the planet with a wingspan of over two feet! Present day dragonflies are descended from these and, thankfully, are much smaller. Meganeura also had huge swiveling multi-faceted eyes that were quick to spot movement and food.
And another fun fact: you can see both Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex in the upcoming Transformers movie, Age of Extinction!
Erth’s DINOSAUR ZOO LIVE is a fun, education, original and entertaining theatrical performance that kids of all ages will enjoy. To get an in-person taste of the show, bring your family to Bubblepalooza at the Long Center Saturday, June 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., where there will be a special appearance by Erth’s DINOSAUR ZOO LIVE’s T-Rex!
